Hello. I have a query regarding reporting of taxpayer information for UK and EU.
I have an Airbnb account, as a UK resident individual with a UK property listed. When I set this up, no UK tax info was required so I just put my name and address and ID which still shows as correct under my account details.
Subsequently I listed a 2nd property which is in France, owned by a UK trust which I manage for them. I added all of the French tax details as required which show under "Taxpayer Information" for France. So far so good.
I checked at the time with Airbnb who said this was fine ie French earnings would be reported in France. UK earnings at that time were not reported.
Airbnb now needs to collect taxpayer information for the UK. If I click "Add new tax info" it appears that I could add my personal UK ID which would be saved under "Taxpayer Information" for UK.
My question is, would this work? My hope is that the French earnings get reported in France based on the trust's tax info and the UK earnings would be reported in the UK on my personal tax account? Can these two very separate tax liabilities be split and reported by the same Airbnb account?
My concern is that an Airbnb account seems to have 2 elements: the user info and the business info. In my case, the individual (me) owns 1 listing and the business (the trust) owns the other.
Perhaps I need to open a 2nd account, however I have confirmed bookings for next year so not sure how I could organise that. Also, one of the listings would lose 12 years of reviews accrued.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

I have found from Airbnb support that it is possible to have a different tax ID number (TIN) on different listings although only 1 TIN per country.
However, if you change the name and address on one listing, it changes those details on the other listings, although it does allow a different TIN.
I think that what I am trying to do is not possible, however Airbnb say you can have different tax identities on different listings on the same account.
I have asked support how I can do this but I am waiting to hear from them.
This sounds complicated but not unusual and so I would always recommend speaking to a tax professional.
Much of this may be because Britain is no longer part of the EU, but there are still trade agreements. As far as I’m aware (so don’t quote me😌) but if you have a place in Europe and in UK, you might be able to obtain tax relief so you aren’t double taxed - but I don’t understand it enough fully…
The sooner you contact a tax professional the better - so there is ample time to review your case fully and provide you with the advice you need.
Thanks but I do not need any information about tax, only about how to fill in the form on the Airbnb site.
All of the actual tax reporting and paying is already sorted.
The 2 properties are owned by different taxpayers in different countries. Airbnb say it is possible to have them both on the same account but I need them to explain how to do it.
