VACASA Sucks

VACASA Sucks

The cabin was not cleaned yet upon our contracted arrival time. Cleaning crew arrived later stating they were late because of cleaning other cabins. We sat out in our car while the cabin was supposedly cleaned. Contact with VACASA was useless. Speaking to a foreigner in another country that spoke poor English about a problem in NC is useless. They did nothing but say they would report it to the local team who would contact us about any issues. They knew nothing about refunds or even when someone local would contact us. We specifically asked cleaners to clean off the decks since they were covered with debris. After they left, we discovered that they only cleaned the top deck. There were live spiders and multiple webs throughout the house. The downstairs toilet had black stains/mold around the base of it. The storm door window had multiple dead bugs trapped in the glass. The blanket on the downstairs bed was not washed but just folded and placed on the bed where we observed it had been used by prior guest on our arrival. Multiple light fixtures in the house did not work, were missing, or had burnt out bulbs. This cabin has a queen bed, a king bed, and a twin bed. There is only one real bedroom having a closet and a door for privacy. The downstairs bedroom(s) have no closets and none of the bedrooms have any storage for clothing in the way of a dresser. The one bedroom with a closet had no hangers. TV internet and dish were impossible to watch. It froze every 5 minutes. We never received contact from anyone at VRBO or a local contact. It appears that VCASA collects most of the money, but VRBO also charged us a fee for the stay. We did receive a $182.19 credit back to our card as a refund but not sure on how that amount came about. Our whole trip was plagued with displeasure about this property and the frustration that we were lied to about a local person contacting us and helping.  We probably will not use VRBO again if connected with VACASA!

Sorry to hear of your experience with a VRBO booking. This is Airbnb @Bryan938   🙂

I would say going forward don't book short term rentals managed by large scale management companies they can disappoint.
