Hi i had sent message to our host on my incoming Hongkong Accommodation and due to the Hongkong Protest we might cancel our accommodation  my host said that we need to contact Airbnb on the full refund.

You can cancel a booking at any time before or during your trip.

When you select your trip and click on change booking, You will then be forwarded to a new page where you can either change or cancel your booking.

Click the Continue button "cancel booking" to begin the cancellation process.

If you cancel, your refund will depend on your host's cancellation policy.

AirBnb will show you the details of your refund before you finally confirm your cancellation.

Your host is correct they cannot cancel the booking for you, you need to do this through Airbnb.

You can only be refunded in line with the cancellation policy you booked under, unless there is government advice that it is dangerous to travel there.

What advice is your government providing on this?

Just like @Denis-Mark0 says, @Eya2, no need for you to contact Airbnb, just cancel your reservation.
