Airbb abandons Superhosts

Dear Sirs, Madams:

I’m a Superhost. Recently Airbb (Airbnb) aided and abetted 2 malicious guests who wrote slanderous review when asked to leave my home for reasons of safety and concern for other guests. Notwithstanding, one guest in particular was allowed to leave a slanderous review staying not even a single night.

My hosting score has been greatly affected by Airbb’s lack of support for these, my own, judgment calls, citing a broken policy for honesty and honest reviews when they themselves were unwilling to place a checks and balance on that “so called” honesty — a gross misunderstanding of ethic, tenure and the psychological nature of people with regard to a hosts track record, albeit the understanding surrounding what it actually takes to BE the type of host who truly cares about this very tenured long-term life in loving hospitality. I.e. Community.

Airbb instead opens those Superhosts (only deserving of praise and loyalty) up for a trite YELP standard scrutiny by a millennial mass of reviewing trolls who grew up entitled, and without the ability to have real conversation much less claim any real knowledge of what life is truly about in general.

The countless debates while I was engaged in policy arguments with Airbb was mind blowing to me, and I found only one true advocate among them actually willing to have a logical discussion and agree outright that Airbb’s policy was defective if not remarkably broken. His willingness to listen to an elder and see a needed transition in what Airbb’s policies could not provide, was the only hopeful example of some desperately needed future change. He cited that this “hate centered” reviewing, aimed maliciously toward good-natured people, was in fact a problem run rampant, and that his own hands were tied and needn’t be. This to say, if there is no sounding board for justice, who will serve it!!

Far be it from Airbb to offend anyone so they’ve adopted the policy willing to offend the tenured good and reward the newbie guest turned lying criminal. Remarkable and horrid!
And I say further, if Airbb cannot open up, step back and welcome lessons from an aged generation of folks many years it’s Sr. i.e. the bulk of your superhosts who only exist in the hosting world for reasons higher than that of capital gain, then it’s time to clean house!

To truly care about people and to see an effectual track record slandered, and then to see that slander supported by Airbb is a hideous and blatantly inane measure. Who would think of such criminal policy — one that stands alone without sound reason or judgment of outcomes? Shame!
Shame on Airbb. It’s the grossest taste I’ve had in my mouth to date. And I suspect Airbb (Airbnb) owes so many more old-school Superhosts apology for throwing them to the proverbial tantrum rating wolves of society; a pack of liars and scoundrels to whom Airbb has suddenly made ally. Again! Gross!

The Superhost should only be those people concerned with giving a measure to all some life-changing community experience. This then would promote the salt of Airbb’s first ideology.. community! — directly contrary to that of the frat boy buying 6 houses, living in none of them, hiring a maid to clean and saturating the market with more dead air and more entitled people. This is not a hotel business for Gods sake! It’s my house! Airbb has no say! Get that thru the heads of policy makers and shakers and give good people back the reigns to make good worthy sound decisions without penalization from some millennial troll and his entitled parents!

Community! Airbb seems to have no idea all that word encompasses or even means.

The system is broken. Fix it. And if Airbb knows not how, fire your frat boy CEO and hire a middle aged humanitarian with no tolerance for entitlement, lying or luke-warm mealy-mouthed policy. Entitlement breeds dishonesty, and dishonesty breeds only entitlement. Segregate the 2 schools
of thought lest you fall trap to the historically misguided. The now policies of Airbb carry the same stench and wreak of the same historical miscarriage and misguided reform that branded badly organizations such as the ACLU and the NAACP — what started for good and when misinterpreted and integrated with greed, turned malicious and some might argue, down right evil.

Airbb is dangerously close to abandoning its original communal constituents, trading them to commerce by yelping the hell out of a truly communal minded endeavor.

Stop the revisions. Stand in the old way. Screw the policy It’s time to rewrite the book.

Verily,

I am sorry for your unpleasant experience with this guest, we all get them from time to time. You are superhost with more than hundreds of 5* reviews and you don't have to worry about 1 bad review.

I would advise you to shorten your review to max 5 sentences (if something similar happens in the future) Short, professional and unemotional review (and reply) is the key.

I am not very good at English and I am sure other hosts will give you better examples but I would write something like:

"Unfortunatelly guest XX didn't read my listing carefully and expected the entire apartment and not just a room in a house. When he arrived he was very upset, rude and demanding and disturbed my other guests and neighbors. We both agreed the best would be if he finds another accommodation. Unfortunatelly I can not recommend this guest"
