I advertise my house for rental in France at a very reasonable rate and that has brought in a fair number of guests.
This year Airbnb have started to include the cleaning charge with the single night cost for rental as an integral price - this has increased the charge considerably and is no longer attractive as a place to stay.
The cleaning charge is the same for 1 night as for longer stays - is there a way to separate the cleaning fee from the rental price to show the true charge for rental?

You can add in a separate cleaning charge on your listing

Thank you Helen - I've been in touch with Airbnb to find out whether I can list the rental and cleaning charges as separate items on the initial page of listings that show when people type in the name of the town where my property is located.
Airbnb tell me that this is not possible until the potential guest opens up the next page which details the breakdown of costs.
This new way that Airbnb show the total cost on the initial page will really reduce the number of people who book as I have a friend in the town who carries out the cleaning for an agreed price and that is non-changeable.
Thank you anyway for taking the time to advise me on this Helen and all the best with your great looking property in Bristol.

@Jeremy581 if I understand correctly
1) Your property is reasonably priced if you look at the nightly rate
2) Your property is overpriced if you look at the nightly rate(s) plus cleaning fee
3) You don't want this to be apparent to people searching for your property.
If the above is correct then, for the sake of guests, I think Airbnb are doing entirely the right thing.
Thank you Mike and Jane.
The reason for my post is that I do not want to omit the cleaning charge and then list it at a later stage but would like to find out whether on the initial listing (that potential guests see) to itemise the rental charge, cleaning fee and other charges.
By doing this the true cost is apparent rather than the cost appearing to be rental + cleaning + other charges on a nightly basis which is
inaccurate and prices me out of the market.
@Jeremy581 when I search for properties I see a rate per night that is the summation of all the charges divided by the number of nights I am searching for. I don't see why this is a problem.
