Airbnb host support probably as bad as my nightmare guests

I currently have a guest staying at my Airbnb in San Diego. On day 4 of a 9 day rental, my neighbor told me the guests picked a fight with random people on the street and shoved someone against a car. I called Airbnb support and the specialist said they couldn't shorten the guest reservation as it wasn't a safety issue since neither I, as the host or the guests were hurt.

In addition to being violent, I sent Airbnb security video evidence that the guest had broken my house rules by smoking in the house and having more than the allowed persons in the house. I also sent video of suspicious activity suggesting they might be dealing drugs. At that point Airbnb revealed that the guest account had been deactivated for security concerns (before I called in) and that they couldn't shorten the reservation. I guess safety really isn't a concern for Airbnb since they never intended to let me know the guest profile had a problem.

I've been calling the company for the last 2 days (15 calls, 5 of which were dropped ) to have them shorten the reservation without response. They just keep saying that a specialist team is working on it but they are having problems since AIRBNB deactivated the guest account and can't reach him. However, I have video evidence of the guest actually talking to Airbnb as he happened to call them in front of my outdoor Ring camera!

I talked to a number of attorneys, one of which I have retained before. They said at this point I might as well wait another 4 days and hope the guest moves out. Two of the attorneys indicated I might have a good case for a lawsuit against Airbnb as they seem to be lying to protect themselves.

I'm hoping the host community might have some advice to get rid of the current guests. I was thinking of calling San Diego Police to preserve the peace when I go to the house at the appointed check-out time to make sure they vacate.

Thoughts?

@Kevin1619 I'm sorry to hear that about your renters and even more disappointed to hear about your lack of support from the platform.

What protections do we have if AirBnB cannot act on hard evidence? We have house rules for a reason and if they can't help enforce it they might as well say that we're on our own when it comes to bad renters.  It's also hard to believe that they can't get a hold of the guy... deactivated or not the should have some ways to contact them in the database.

Four days to go is still half the stay and inaction on AirBnB's part just gives these guys more chances to keep breaking rules and opportunities to be violent.  I hope you hear back from them soon.

Good luck.
