Bad experience

I have booked the accomodation of Kyoto at November and paid with full payment. The host suddenly cancel my booking and the reason is the house contract is end at September so the guest cannot stay anymore after September. Waste my time and money (Because the bank charged me a cross border fee and it cannot be refundable). I need search again and discovered many good accommodations that I have look at before has been booked by other people already. Very disappointed on this. I think is not fair to guest if host cancel booking, host can charge us if we make cancellation but we cannot requist compensation if host cancel our booking.

@Dengtheng0

Even if the host cancels the booking you should normally be refunded.

Best call Airbnb helpdesk and explain the issue:

Contacting Airbnb Via Twitter

I find the second best and easiest way to contact Airbnb regarding any issues I may be having is by using Twitter.  Airbnb seems to have dedicated staff who monitor their Twitter feeds and I usually hear back from them within 5-10 minutes of posting my isssue.

Step 1: Log into Twitter

Step 2: Search for @Airbnbhelp and choose "Follow" them.

Step 3: Send a Direct Message (DM) explaining your issue and wait for their response.  They may ask for information such as your listing but always provide it over DM so it is not public.

Calling Airbnb's Customer Experience Line

 ***Please note that these phone numbers and any numbers below are meant for URGENT MATTERS so it is best to use the above two methods first***

Here are the phone numbers for Airbnb.  If the area where you are hosting is not listed, check out the two ways below this list in order to find their number for your area.

Hope you get this resolved.

Thank to your info~~

@Dengtheng0
Sorry to hear that your host cancelled, but I would just like the say that it is a bad experience both ways: for the guest if the host cancels and for the host if the guest cancels.

Just yesterday I had a guest cancelling without giving me any reason for it. He has booked 1.5 weeks in July/August back in MAY and cancelled 6 days before arrival (no penalty if its 5 days or more before arrival). So now I am obviously going to lose this whole period of high season as guests tend to book in advance in my area and this is really frustrating.

Unfortunately these things happen, dont get upset and move on with the search, I am sure you will find something good in the end. There may be some good host out there who's received a last minute cancellation like myself 😄

Sorry hear about your case. Actually I  understand what you saying but still will feeling bad when it's happen. I also know still had many good host and good guest at here. Hope we both can meet up good host and good guest in the end ~ cheers ~
