Cancelation policy

Hi Lizzie

I recently changed my cancellation plocy from strict to very strict due to circumstances that have happened in the past.

I undedrstand that the fees have gone up from 3 to 5.5% and ok with that as I get paid one month before arrival.

What I do not understand is why the commission is changed on the entire package - ie Accommodation and cleaning & linen fees.

I do not make any money on the latter. I charge guests what I'm being charged by the linen company and the cleaning company.

Why would Airbnb earn a commision from this when I am now loosing on it.

Cleaning etc is NOT an EXPERIENCE, where you take a commision.

Please explain.

Thank you.

Julia

Hello,

The help clearly states the Host Service fee is "calculated from the booking subtotal" , details:

https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1857/what-is-the-airbnb-service-fee

Maybe you should increase those fees or nightly price a little to compensate ?

BTW if you want to address Lizzie, use "tagging" like @Julia-And-Hugo0 , otherwise it will not come to her attention.

Hope this helps,

Emiel
