Date blocked, reservation pending.

Hi Folks,

I got a request yesterday night for booking my place for today. I approved it and selected the option "Do not block the dates, leave them open."

The guest didn't resposnd since then.

Currently my calendar is blocked.

Status on App is "Pending ID Verification - The Guest has 12 hours to submit ID to confirm the reservation"

Status on the Webiste is "Not Possible"

My calendar is blocked and I'm unable to unblock it. I guest who had stayed with me earlier wants to book right now but is unable to as the it's showing unavailable for today.

Could someone please suggest a turn around or explain if I'm missing something?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Jeet

@Colin59  Your calendar should clear within 24 hours as the guest is given 24 hours to work out whatever is the problem with being able to complete the reservation.  It would be good for you to summarize your communication with the potential guest in the Air BNB message system in case there is any question about what happened.  If your calendar does not open soon, contact Air BNB.  There is a community guide under "Discuss" of this site.  My trick for reaching a service rep is to call really early in the morning before the call volume causes you to have a long wait.  Good luck!

Call AirBnB and tell customer service to unblock the dates...that's what I do, it only takes a few minutes and there is no penalty to the host.  The idea that an unqualified potential guest can block off dates for 12-24 hours "pending approval" is totally ridiculous...seriously, if you don't have the proper credit, verified ID, etc.  then you shouldn't be allowed to make a reservation until it's all squared away. It's like someone at the grocery store who forgets their wallet and insists that the cashier wait with their "pending purchase" and also not serve anyone else whilst the person goes home and retrieves their wallet.  No. Void sale. Next customer please...is what SHOULD happen.
