Deposit for possible damages during a film shoot

A prospective guest wants to film a short student film at my place. I would like her to post some kind of refundable insurance or security bond to cover any potential damages. Does Airbnb have a way to do this and if so, what is the maximum amount and is there any charge to the host for this kind of service?

@Judie2 - this is a quite regular request

hosts get from film crews wanting a stylish but cheap location venue. You need to draw up a seperate legal agreement with the 'company' undertaking the shoot (if you are willing to accept it), you should also charge a higher base price. You can search online for a template 'film location hire' contract, to assist you to understand contracts and draw up your own agreement. Also be aware of how any film or images of your home are to be used - and subject matter of film. It could be porn - would you be happy with that, shot in your house and posted online? Think carefully and get everything in writing including establishing they are a legitimate company or freelance team and not just a porn shoot looking for cheap venue

Thanks for the feedback, Maxine.  I've been in the entertainment business for years and know well what of you speak.  In this case however, it's a 15 minute student film and the director, a lovely girl, came by the look at the suite so I've met her and no alarms went off. Also, she is sending me a copy of the script so no problem there.  I just wanted to be sure I'm covered by Airbnb which it seems I am.  If this was a full-length feature, I would certainly do it differently but in this circumstance  (and only a 3 day shoot)  I think I'll be ok provided I take the proper precautions, (i.e. shooting lots of 'before' photos and making it clear that, except for the  two actors, everyone else take their shoes off when in the room (I recently got new carpeting.)

Thanks so much for your input and taking the time to write.

Best,

Judie
