Guest Cancelled LTR and New Inquiry before I could adjust price

Hi there!

I just had a guest who was here for work get laid off his job.  So he had to cancel after one week of his two month reservation.

I refunded him the second month, and I told him I would refund the prorated charge for the rest of this month if I was able to rent it.

Before I could get to my calendar to update my pricing, I have an inquiry.  I am in the path of the eclipse, so I wanted to adjust my pricing to reflect that.

So here are my questions:

1)  Cancelled guest is putting down extenuating circumstances - will AirBNB just take the monthly fee they just paid me a week ago back without asking me?

2)  I can't seem to send the new guest a Special Offer - do I decline his present inqury and send a special offer then?

Thank you for your quick answers!

Jill

about 1) i don't think getting laid would fit in the category of extenuating circumstances, same for getting laid off a job.

Ha!~  Just an idiom we use here in America to say, "You're fired!"

@Jill163 I would be upfront with the guest who inquired. Explain the situation simply and send a special request. Make sure to include cleaning fee in cost. Then from there they can accept or decline. I don't know about you but I never like to decline. Not sure if it is reflected in your host record or not...

Hey Colleen:  It wasn't letting me send a special offer.  I had to accept and then put in an alteration.  It worked out, fortunately.  Thanks for your help!
