such things happen, your guest may be on his way, without a wifi connection, or his phone was stolen or batteries died...
If you know his time of arrival just be home and wait. If he doesn't show up until the end of your check-in time then he will not come at all... probably.... and it will be a classic "No-show"
In this case, you will be paid and can rest 🙂 But, it may be a good idea to send a note to Airbnb to inform them your guest didn't show up. Or even better, leave a message on Airbnb message thread to your guest: Dear XX, I tried to contact you by SMS, phone, email... but you were unreachable. Today is the day of your check-in but I still don't know the exact time of your arrival. Check-in time is from xx to xx and I will be waiting for you until xx h. "
It can be useful in case your guest later claims you didn't meet him or grant him access and he wants a refund.
In case he doesn't cancel and doesn't show up you both will be prompted to leave a review. It would be smart to leave him a review, something like: "Unfortunatelly we didn't have the pleasure to host this guest because he was unable to come and didn't stay at our home. We wish him well etc... " It can be useful if your guest for some reason decides to leave a negative review
