Homeowner insurance help

I recently tried to file a jewlry claim with my  homeowners insurance and was told that my insurance was cancelled 2 months ago because I host through airbnb. I talked to my mortgage company who handles the payments and they recieved the notice but did not put me on any gap insurance and was still taking my money for the insurance. I talked to my insurance company and they do not write policies for short term housing share scenarios like airbnb. Does any one know of an insurance company that will give me insurance?? I live in the Washington, DC area and my home is in virginia. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
