I have a booking but i cannot reach the host at all. what should i do?

i will be arrive in 3 weeks, i cannot contact my my host since the first day after the booking accepted and the airbnb debit my card as payment.

I have contact the airbnb for help, but so far also no update for the last 1 week.

I would like to cancelled the reservation if there is no penalty, because I already feel uncomfortable; but too bad, the regulation is strick so i can only get 50% refund if i cancelled it now. any suggesttion?

What I as host do when my guests don't reply to my messages through Airbnb is to text message them on their phone to please log into their Airbnb account where a message from me is waiting for them.

Hosts though, should be more professional and normally know right away that they got a message through the system.

What I would do is to contact Airbnb by phone. I haven't been a guest for quite a while, but there should be a phone no. on your confirmation.

PS:

Never simply cancel through the site. Always best to talk to the helpdesk directly who will help solve the problem together with you. If they determine that it is the host's fault, you won't even be penalized by losing money.
