ID verification and guest profile name does not match?

Hi all,

Recently, I have a request from a previous guest asking for a copy of her booking record. 

And she asked if I could help to change the name on the boking record to match her name on the passport.

It is obviously not allowed under any circumstance.

However, what makes me surprised is that she did pass Airbnb's ID verification in the past.

For example, if the real name is "Kelias Mases" and  the profile name is "Keli".

How can a guest pass the ID check with a fake profile name?

The airbnb verification is far from foolproof and it is possible to change the name after verification and possible to list with an alias.

If the guest wants to change something to her profile, she needs to contact airbnb.

I have had persons doing instant book with a false profile - luckily airbnb allowed me to cancel penalty free. After that I put in my house rules that ID must match profile, hoping to keep the bad apples away.

I had a guest arrive who obviously was not the same profile but there is no way I could know this until they arrived. I did not know what to do and felt uncomfortable with them here.
