Is it legal or illegal to rent out a guest house in Burbank CA?

I can not seem to find a straight answer to this question: is it legal or illegal to rent out a guesthouse or a room on Air BnB? I read somewhere it is in violation to do short term rentals but it's ok to do 30 days or more. Can someone help me with this info?
