Minimum night stay

Can you set a nightly minimum, but relax that nightly minimum if there's open spots for the upcoming week? For example I don't want someone to book one night 3 weeks out because then it could block a potential longer stay, but if I have open spots over the next say 5 days and someone wants to book one night I would be fine with that.

If you can please explain how if you cannot could you please work on including that feature?

In a word, @Dusty4, no.  Minimum length of stay is the same for as long as your booking window.  However, if you have some specific periods of time that are more desireable, then you can make those dates have a longer minimum stay.  Go to manage listing, availability and then edit trip length.  One strategy is to have a 3 day minimum until perhaps 3 weeks ahead then change to 1 day.  Tricky, because it depends on what is your usual booking time period.

I would also appreciate this feature. It's more common that I'll want to waive the odd minimum here and there than that I would want to increase the minimum here and there.

One situation is what OP describes, where you don't care as much about meeting a minimum when the dates are fast approaching with no bookings.

In another situation, I currently have a guest checking out on Friday and a new guest checking in on Monday. Because I require one night in between reservations, this means that Saturday night is free, but Friday night and Sunday night are not. Saturday night shows on my calendar as available, but it's impossible for anyone to book it because they can't meet my 2-night minimum.

I would gladly accept a 1-night guest to fill this slot on my calendar, but I don't want to have to set my entire calendar to 1 night by default and then have to log in every single day to update the minimum on every day manually to 2 nights as it comes into my 3-month booking window...or else risk people booking 1-night stays 3 months out that I wasn't able to prevent by updating my minimum on those days in time. It would be far easier to just be able to click this day and change the minimum to just one night, just like I can change the price for one night.

Actually, I followed the above advice for increasing the minimum and found that it works for decreasing the minimum too! At least, I think. I'm not able to verify since I don't have a second account to test with, but it let me input a 1-night minimum for that date using the "season or weekend" option and selecting Saturday specifically.

I was just going to ask the same question thanks for asking Dusty.  It looks like the answer is no 😞

Hi

The answer is actually yes you can do it.

If you go into trip length, a new feature recently added was minimum nights stay by day, unless you make a season adjustment which that will overcome the default.

I have set mine to Monday-Thursday minimum 2 nights. Friday-Sunday minimum 1 night. However if an odd day becomes available then I will add a setting just for that one period to allow single days.  The last part however is a manual process but it takes just a minute to do and works well for me.
