Nasty AirBnb Message about declining guests asking to break rules

Recently I received a nasty message from Airbnb that they might block a listing or lower my standing because I've declined a number of recent guests. Every single one of the declines had to do with guests asking to break either the law or the house rules for the rental clearly outlined in the listing. Examples are: bringing various animals, children in age restricted community or allowing a rental period not allowed by law. Very disappointing.

Those messages are sent automatically by the software, so do not take it too personal.

If guest clearly want something which is in contradiction with your listing, then explain it to them and ask them to retract the booking request. Then there is no decline neccesary from you.

BTW If it is only an inquiry, just answer the question and do not decline (it is not an obligation, i never declined an inquiry)

Hope this helps,

Emiel.
