New York - Police came for inspection... now what?

Hi everybody,

Yesterday evening police knocked and entered the apartment we rent to guests. They were very friendly but interviewed our guests because of complaints in the building. The guests told the police the truth, that they are airbnb guests and that was about it.

The apartment is a 2 bedroom that we do not reside in when guests are present...

My question is: now what? I'm assuming we shall receive some kind of notification from the city about this... what is the procedure here? 

In all honesty we have been away from the city for a few years now and very tentatively renewed our lease for one more year on the hopes that we may return. But at this point I'd consider giving up the lease ASAP and just vacating... 

Any and all advise and experiences would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea what we can expect.
