I received a notice telling that PayPal will begin to charge a 1% transaction fee in early November, meaning a $500 transaction will incur a $5.00 fee. It used to be free so this is one more way to slice your pie a little thinner. Up to now I was utilizing this form of payment however it seems prudent to move to direct deposit. It would useful, given the significant number of Airbnb transactions affords any provider, that Airbnb inform PayPal of losing Airbnb some traffic as Airbnb will supply more cost effective alternatives to PayPal. There are other transaction companies out there.
@Stephen86 I use Paypal and have never had a problem with it, and have not been notified of a potential transaction fee. Is this just an American thing or have other countries been affected?
If you’d like to receive your payout within 30 minutes, there’s now a 1% transaction fee, it used to be a $0.25 flat rate. If you like to add anything onto a bank account then it’s free, but could take at least 1 business day. I understand PayPal has to make money, I wish we had other options.
