Paying Income tax in France as a UK resident

New rules state that income earned in France will be declared by Airbnb to the tax authorities; I already declare earnings from my property in France to the UK tax authorities and it is included in my tax assessment. Now I'm unsure if I need to declare to the French authorities as well, given we have a treaty on tax in the EU it ought not to be necessary, and the political situation is not helping either!
