Reporting Airbnb income to government (eg. Centrelink Australia)

Hi, I am a senior person (pensioner) hosting in Australia. I am wondering about reporting my Airbnb income to government and the impact on my government age pension:

- how do you report income that is unpredictable and variable

- how often should you report

- can the income be split between myself and my spouse to reduce the impact on our pensions.

Any advice based on practical experience of this topic would be most welcome.
