Reviews

I recently had a negative review which I was able to respond to

The guest also made an additional comment with Chinese characters. I think this is unfair to the host:

I don't know what was said

I was unable to make a response in the same language

I feel airbnb should disallow this and/or allow the host the opporunity to also respond in the other language (with support)

Would appreciate any views/thoughts

你可以用任何你想要的语言回复. 🙂 Did you try running the Chinese writing through Google Translate. That would give you the gist of what is written. However if you want to reply in Chinese and you are not fluent, I would hire a translator, because a machine translation would read unprofessional and may not represent what you are intending.

Thanks - I got the translation but am reluctant to respond through Google translate - it's a bit of a rough + ready medium.

There is something unethical about reviewing in a language that isn't the recipients

"This is not particularly clean, stay in New Zealand is quite old. The bed is trapped. There are many mosquitoes in the toilet, and moths. The house needs to be refurbished. The landlord is still good."

Thanks to Google Translator!
