Rule set to avoid check in or out over Christmas holidays?

Hoping someone has worked this out because I can't get my head around it.

The ideal Christmas booking for us and our cleaner would be for about 14 days which would start sometime before Christmas and end after New Years day. In Rule Sets I can restrict check in/out days of the week but can't select ALL days of the week, so it doesn't quite work.

You just apply the no check in rule set to the days you don't want check in, plus you can also apply a different minimum stay to particular dates, if necessary.

 

Apply the minimum stay of 14 nights (or whatever you would consider acceptable) to the entire period you are looking at, ie. from before Christmas to after New Years. Then apply the no check in rule sets to all the dates that you don't want the guest arriving on. The latter will stop them from checking in during the holiday and the former will ensure you get guests who stay for the duration.

Thanks very much @Huma0 , I tried what you suggested but the problem is you can't select no check in or check out for more than 6 days in a row. You can only select no check in or out by days of the week- Mon, Tues, Wed etc but it won't let you select all 7 days in the week. So someone can still book starting from any time before my 14 day minimum starts and check out on that one day that I am forced to "not select". If that makes sense. 

I don't think it worked like this last year.

I think maybe you have already figured it out, but you can apply the no check in rule set to as many days as you like. You might have to apply rule sets to individual dates if it won't let you do it for a whole week, but I just tried and had no problem applying it to a week. I do it all the time as I don't want guests checking in when I am away on a work trip.

@Patti-And-Marty0 Are there many guests who want to stay for 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year? I fear being this limiting might result in no stays whatsoever (which does, I suppose, achieve the no check in or out you desire.)

Yes there is a good chance of getting a 14 day booking, we often do over Christmas. And if I don't get it by a certain date I'll relax the rules. I've had a few enquiries already so it seems people are planning early.

That is our Peak time we are already fully booked, I was trying to avoid a guest booking for 2 days right in the middle, I managed it hahah

I think I've solved my own problem. I used two rule sets of no check in/check out during the 14 day period- one that covered Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat and another that covered just Sunday, thus all days of the week accounted for.  So the rule set of 14 day minimum isn't even necessary because there can't be any changes during that time. Hopefully I haven't missed anything, seems to work on checking.

 Just block the days on you calendar—example, December 21 to January 3. I’m out of town during that time period and thats what I did. Easy, peasy.

It's not that @Patti-And-Marty0 don't want guests staying on those dates, they just don't want them checking in/out. They still want a booking, which wouldn't be possible if the dates were blocked.
