Taxes

Hi Team,

I am contacting you regarding the new featura "Add Tax".

We are based in Cascais, Portugal and we have several properties and if we understoof this feature will work as it does for the properties in Lisbon.

AIRBNB collects the city tax, 2€ per person per night up to 7 nights.

My question is if we add this tax feature to our properties in Cascais, will AIRBNB collect it like it does for us in Lisbon?

We currently proceed as below, where we collect this upon the check-in:

City tax or tourist tax is a tax that certain municipalities or regions require hosts to collect from tourists who stay in tourist accommodation such as hotels, B&Bs or vacation rentals as a contribution to the maintenance of local facilities.
When applicable, it is the host’s responsibility to collect the tax from tourist and pass it on to the municipalities/regions. It is for this reason that we are writing to you to request that you pay the compulsory fee on arrival to the person who will be checking you in.
The fee is €1 per person per night, with a maximum charge of 7€ per person, children under thirteen are not subject to this tax - (this can be found in our AIRBNB ads)

Thank you for your help,

Marc
