dispute being charged cancellation fee

When a guest request that her reservation be cancelled and it was cancelled will I be charged for cancellation fees?
Because I have been. Can this be refunded?

Hi @Mark-Glenn0,

I'm afraid if you cancelled the resevation, you will be penalised.

If a guest wants to cancel, they should do it themselves. That way, you don't get punished for their change of mind.

You could try explaining to Customer Services that you didn't understand this. Maybe they will be sympathetic!
