host didn't confirm in time

I tried to book a holiday from 18 - 23 August in Tranquility, Velddrif, South Africa, with host Clifford. Clifford was travelling at the time, but emailed me soon after receiving my request to say that he would check my booking and confirm as soon as he got home. We had a number of conversations back-and-forth, but Clifford missed the time to confirm the booking. He has approved my stay, but neither of us is able to go back into the booking to make it 'live' again. He can't confirm my booking; I am unable to resend the request. How can we fix this?

@Leigh31 hm... if those days are blocked now because he missed the time then the only option is to contact Airbnb and explain the situation. Maybe they will unblock them

If those days are not blocked then he can try to turn on instant booking for few minutes so you can book. After that he can turn it off again.
