"Pay Less Up Front"- does anyone know how it actually works?

Does anyone know the timing of the Less Up Front payments?  I've always collected the TOT taxes (yes I'm legal) through the resolution center  for some time and now have a guest that I can't request payment until the second payment is made.  I don't see anything on ABB site when second payment is due other than "ABB will notify guest" .  What about hosts?  Evidently this is a new policy and I just have to guess the timing.  My guest is willing to pay, just can't request it.  I've had a couple of guests refuse to pay the tax and it created a big hassle and tied my property up on the calendar and when they cancelled I was unable to rebook.  Wish ABB would collect the taxes like VRBO, Trip Advisor, etc.

@Ken-And-Barbara0  They have to pay the balance 14 days or 7 days before depending on amount. I just check at 13 days to send them something. If that doesn't work than at 6 days. I mark it on my At A Glance daily calendar to remind me to charge them.
