Request and Confirmation, since then no response

Dear Air-Bnb friends,

 

I had a lot of guests already but this time I do not feel very well about the guest. He sent me a request and I sent him a pre-confirmation, he confirmed. That was around a month ago. Since 1-2 Weeks (3-5 Messages Later during different times) I got no rensponse of him. I sent him al the details about my flat, the way to my house and where I gonna leave the key. Nothing. No reply. I dont know what to do. Actually he wants to come to my place with a friend of him. But I do everything and try to communicate, but no response. Iàm not willing to host someone who is not even able to say thanks for your information or sending me all the details. Iàm not even sure, if he is coming.

Do I have to host him? What can I do? Any advices?

I never met a guest who is like that...usually everything is smooth;)

A lot of guests think they don't have to answer once they have paid I'm waiting for one now who has not told me his itinerary he has not answered my emails at all

if your guest paid for one he can not bring a second outside ABB wait till his due date and see who turns up

they think we are hotels and therefore they don't thank a hotel once they have paid but most are nice and appreciate that you have gone to a lot of trouble for their comfort

I have the same issue, I've written an message to the guest via airbnb regarding arrival time, no response, I've texted to the mobile number provided and have received no response until 10 pm of the supposed arrival day, I do not ofer 24 h check in so honestly I have no idea if the guest is gonna arrive (in the middle of the night???) or not or whatever....

usually most guest are nice but I guess some confuse airbnb with a hotel.....

I you can still get out of it I wouldn't host him... I have also gotten a lot more selective in accepting guests and usually listen to my gut.. unfortunately airbnb penalises hosts but not guests.....
