In the latest mobile app version 16.35 Build 914, the notifications's badge app icon does not clear after all notifications have been addressed. I have to log out and log back in for the badge app icon to disappear. Please fix this.
My suspicion is this has to do with reviews. I have a regular guest who comes weekly but only for a few days. I keep getting prompted to review her (as seen on web dashboard too, which shows 2 notifications, both about reviewing the same guest) but I don't need to review the same person every single time they stay. In fact it would be somewhat odd to look at a guest's reviews and to see so many reviews from the same host, especially one after another.
I say this also because the app now also won't clear the "please review" guest line at the bottom of the home screen, which used to disappear after you clicked it once.
I don't think it's related to reviews. I've only used Airbnb one time. completed my review and was reviewed by my host. I have no unread messages. I uninstalled and reinstalled app and it still shows a 1 on the app icon.
Same here! Badges are a nuisance to me, so I like to clear them out asap. Since this is obviously a bug (I'm new and haven't completed a reservation yet, so not related to reviews), I have disabled the badges in my IPhone settings for now. I'll check back with it later to see if it's been fixed. A lot better than logging out and back in and losing message history, as others have reported.
I personally have stopped using the app. It kept doing weird things like checking on a "no one can book" option which I did not choose. I noticed this after a two or three week dry of no bookings nor requests during high season. A few hours after I uninstalled the app I received a booking request.
There is a few discussion rooms next to this one about the same problem. A lot of people having the same issue. After todays update, it's even worst. Now in travelling mode search bar is missing, on iphone 6, iOS 10 (next to still frozen badge).
