I SO **bleep**ING HATE the way Airbnb has destroyed everywhere in the world with its generifying, gentrifying spyware, spawning a planet-wide malaise of boring apartments and cottages no longer available to artists and poor people, and a global citizenry of obnoxious bargain hunters who are now socially engineered to tattle.

@Mary-and-Ben0, Westcliffe is a special little place. It's like stepping back in time in some ways with an in tact town with a collection of ranchers, artists and some new people moving in. The town has survived in many ways because it is remote but also because it doesn't have a resort and thus will hopefully never become another Colorado mountain town ruined by an influx of people - particuarly the ski development. 

Check out The Jones Theater, which shows movies on the weekends and puts on plays and even a Shakespeare Festival (this is a county of 4500 people)!   We also have a wolf sanctuary and one of Colorado's neatest architectural points - Bishop Castle, not to mention one of the best radio stations in the state (91.7 KLZR), three music festivals, an Amish bakery, a great little butcher shop and hundreds of square miles of open space in every direction which will not be encroached on my development since the county land use code requires plots to be of 35 acres or more to preserve the ranching way of life. 

Check it out sometime! The aspens have just started turning here and there.

I love it when stupid politicians in cities like Santa Monica ban Airbnb rentals. It drives up demand and prices for my listing. Also drives up my property value. Restrictions mean there's profit to be made somewhere.

My only thought...ABB is a capitalistic venture, in other words, a way for individuals to make a little money and travellers to save a little.  By reading your posts, that concept seems to be foriegn to your way of thinking.  Food for thought, I've never heard of fragrance free lodging before your post so I seriously doubt this is a "huge market segment"  I find it funny that you are priced higher than my condo on the Vegas Strip but then, maybe thats why you have so few bookings.  Just something to consider other than the "search feature".
