Have a question for all those hosts who list multiple rooms in your home. Are you upfront about that? Most of the listings I've seen have stated right in the 'about the space' that there are multiple rooms/possible guests.
I recently rented a space where the host didn't advertise that upfront (he had 5 rooms in the home, yet listed the basement room as having a really private space...where in fact it was more of a hostle type of set-up). I booked without knowing that, with my mom, who didn't feel comfortable with the situation, and they wouldn't refund me, stating they 'didn't have to specify' that information. They told me there would be other guests in the space the day of my reservation, so I couldn't cancel.... I paid a premium (over $150 per night, with a $75 dollar cleaning fee) so was extremely disappointed/annoyed at losing $400+ dollars....
I host a private room and clearly state the specifics/shared spaces of the house, so expectations are managed. I wouldn't state that it had a private entrance....when they have to use the front door, for example.
Any insight here? Mostly just a deciecptful way to make additional money I guess?? How do you all handle multiple listings/specifics about shared space?
Refund policy states if it's mis-represented, it would fall into the eligible travel issues.....

Situations that may be eligible for a refund under this policy generally fall into one of three categories:
- The host fails to provide reasonable access to the booked listing.
- The listing booked is misrepresented (ex: number of bedrooms, location, lacks promised amenities).
- The listing isn't generally clean, is unsafe, or there's an animal in the listing that wasn't disclosed prior to booking.
