Broken window

My guest went on a day trip and left the windows open in the apartment, which resulted in a draft and one window got broken.  I dont charge any fees in advance, which is my bad.  Is there any way to have them pay for it?  Resolution center only shows my future trips not current hosting.

Very agrivated.

Did he break the house rules by leaving the window open? If so ask guest to pay for the window. Otherwise why would guest be responsible for a gust of wind that broke a window.

I would call the Customer Service folks.  You might have a local number, but the one that I use is 1+415-800-5959.  Consider having a damage deposit fee for future guests.

Very questionable that a guest is responsible for this. If they were in the property and a gust of wind damaged the window they would not be liable for it.

Sounds like you don't have a security deposit in place (I assume that's what you mean by fees) - you should do so in case of damage. A guest does not pay the deposit upfront - they just agree to pay up to a specific amount in the event of them causing damage.

Does it say in your house rules/do you let your guests know that they must close the window because leaving them open could break them?
