I have been trying to link our calendars on Airbnb to Holiday Lettings and Owners Direct. When I view the calendars on HL and OD there is an extra day added to the booking already entered in there (I have previously been updating all sites manually so the bookings are already in all the calendars). If the booking originated in Airbnb no extra day is added. I have cancelled and re-exported the calendar to no avail. I contacted Help and the reply said it could be the Preparation Time setting in Reservation Preferences, but this is not the issue.
We had a double booking the other week before I tried to link the calendars. I thought this would stop that issue, if all the calendars updated with wherever the booking came from.
Ah, then perhaps sync them but double check them often, just in case. Little to loose, since forgetting to enter a booking in the other calendars is the worst, erroneous blocking of dates by one of the calendars is by far the lesser of two evils.
Btw, what I actually do, I have a big ledger and made a calendar in it, where I not only keep all bookings but all notes about every booking. That I use 10x than computer calendars.
Thanks Fred. I have been away and hoped that the linking would help avoid double booking issues while I wasn't here. Arriving back at work, all seems to be sorted on the extra day appearing on HL and OD - it seems to only have happened on the properties I linked before going away, which already had the dates blocked out manually in their respective calendars. Unfortunately, new bookings that have come through OD or HL now appear on AirBnb with a day missing!
