Cancellation and review

Just a quick question please 🙂

We host our holiday home remotely. We have just had a 'princess' arrive today and she obviously wanted to cancel and move into a luxury hotel.

She found a leaf on the carpet (ironically she brought it in on her own shoe) and a wrinkle in the duvet cover so complained the place was filthy.

We offered to refund her if she canceled just to get her gone. This has happened and so we are all happy.

My question, can she review me? From what I read, no but just want to make sure as some people seem to say that she will be able.

Many thanks for your time 🙂

@Denise80 She will be able to leave a review as she cancelled after check in.

Thanks @Gillian19, that was exactly what I was dreading!

On the off-chance that she doesn't give me a review, I will still give her one! I know it is a 14 day window...is that 14 days from their check in date, their check out date, or from the time I get the email from Airbnb? Thanks

@Denise80, oh, don't we just love the princesses! Yes, unfortunately, she will be able to review you but let's hope she doesn't! Unless she leaves you a review in the meantime, wait until the last minute to review her in the hopes she doesn't leave a retaliatory review. I believe you have 14 days from check out date - you will be able to see how much time you have left to review under the guest booking.

If she does review you, you can always leave a public response - keep it short, factual and professional so other guests can see that you are the grown up one. Your other reviews are fantastic so other guests should be able to keep this in perspective.

Thanks @Kath9. It doesn't seem fair that someone who hasn't even stayed is able to leave a review. Oh well, nothing I can do about it, though I will write a review in a word document so I can think about what I will say rather than write it in the heat of the moment,  and I can 'vent' in safety!
