Confirmed guests - no surname / last name

So all the last names for my future guest disappeared???

is this new, as I could see them last week? Even on confirmed bookings?

I will star asking copies of their passports or leave Airbnb - I rent a room in my house, not worth the risk!

i understand not sharing before the booking, and not sharing the picture before booking confirmation, but this is one step too far!

@Stephanie , is this a new think?

Hosts need to be protected, it is a 2 way thing!

To be honest @Roberta2  I am a host who shares my home. I don't really notice whether guests provide a surname when they book. I don't think it is compulsory.

I only take guests who have photo ID and a clear profile photo of themselves. I also ask guests vetting questions when they book.

You can certainly add it to your house rules that you only accept guests who provide you with a copy of their passport but obviously you need to be GDPR  compliant and it may put some people off from booking with you.

@Roberta2  I still have full names for my upcoming reservations.

Hiya @Roberta2 ,

We've had a look in the back end and this doesn't seem to be showing up and is certainly not by design. Could you give me some screenshots or specific areas where this issue is showing so we can get it fixed?

Thanks

OH, here I can images.

When I click on reservations it does not show, if you click on the profile it does not show, but when you click on view details, it now shows surname!

Thanks for looking into this!
