Does Host Guarantee or insurance help with damage from kids ? Forgot security deposit

Hi, someone is renting my unit who has kids and I did not have a security deposit entered in when they originally booked. I'm worried about damage to my sofa or something else their kids may happen to damage by accident. Is there covereage for this I was looking at the host guarantee which looks like I would be covered here but just wondering if anyone else knew and how well the process was for the host guarantee if issues did arrise ? They are renting my unit for a few months so I'd like to make sure I'm covered with such a lengthy rental. I will having someone come in to clean periodically but I'm leery something might happen over that amount of time.

Host Guarantee is only for signficant damage - think (if you dare) your place being trashed completely. It's' not there to cover 'normal' damages. 

You should alwasy have a security deposit in place, unless you want to attract people who have close to zero credit limit, or who don't really care about causing damage. That's a bit of a generalisation I know, but I don't understand why people don;t have one in place.

At least you have made arrangements for someone to come in on a regular basis to clean and that's a great idea as you can both keep on top of any potential mess and keep an eye on the place too. 

Hopefully it will all work out fine - most rentals do.

The Host Guarantee is limited, but so then is the Security Deposit, plenty of examples of issues on here.

Personally I do not think ABB is set up properly to deal with long stays.

Regular checks are good.

Even without a security deposit, you can ask the guests to pay for damages.  Use the Resolution Center to request reasonable compensation for any damage to your property.  The Security Deposit will make this process easier, but you can still ask and also ask Airbnb to help you if you have proof of the damages.
