Guests didn't realize it's a shared flat

Hey

I'm hosting a couple, and when they arrived to my room, they were really surprised to know that my roommate stays in the other room.

of course it's written in the description, and also listen as a ''private room'' and not ''entire apartment'' on Airbnb.

But those guests have no reviews and I believe they didn't completely realize the whole concept.

I sent them a nice message explaining where everything was written, and that I understand their confusion.

I also said that I don't have anything to offer, but they can contact airbnb and ask to move in case they don't feel comfortable

(but of course I would love them to stay). they didn't even respond.

I'm afraid now to receive a bad review, for something that is not really my fault.

the face that my roommate stays is written in the first 3 lines of the description, and I also mentioned it during the messages (''my roommate will be home to give you the keys'', for example).

Is there something I can do, except for hoping they won't say anything?

I also put them in the room a bottle of wine as a welcome gift (before knowing the problem), but I don't think it's gonna make a difference. 😕

did anyone have this problem before?

Hello @Tal1,

Definitely first time Airbnb users or guests who try to take advantage by finding "issues" which are not true.

You did the right thing by sending them the message. Since you have mentioned that they haven't responded, you can give them a call in some time and ask if they read your messages and if everything was fine. I hope they reply in an affirmitive.

Don't worry about the review. If it's not positive, you can leave a public response explaning the case.

If they mention anything that is false in the review then you can get in touch with airbnb to get removed 🙂

Good luck,

Jeet

Thank you very much. I didn't know I can comment to their review.

my concern is about the stars, that so far everything is pretty high, and now I believe they will rate me differently, only because of that.

Yes. You can. Not through the app but through your computer you can 🙂

Just have a word with them. I think things should be fine and they shouldn't give bad ratings.

Thank you very much
