Host damage

Last August I hosted for on night to a supposedly verified guest. I returned the following day to find the house completely trashed with £3000 worth of damage caused. The police were called as the house was unsecured and I suspected burglars. I tried to claim through the host guearantee and Airbnb refused as I had changed the location of the property at the last minute as agreed with the guest. It transpires the guest was not properly verified, under 18 and no security deposit was paid. After 5 months they have now closed the case. Has anybody else been treated in this way?

do tell me, what do you mean you changed the location of the property at the last minute?? I don't understand......and is this some new scam guests are using???
