What to do when I see a host violate customer private information

Hello everyone, I wonder what to do in this case.

There are lots of Facebook groups for airbnb hosts to exchange information and experiences in addition to the Airbnb Community. As you can guess, sometimes hosting can be unhappy with the guests, complain about guests etc. It is not nice, but let's say still under the limit.

Recently when I turned on my FB, I saw a new feeds of a host sharing the entire personal ID information of the guests on one FB Airbnb Host group, that he is so angry with these guests and kind of want to give warning to other hosts.

I don't know and don't want to know further about that conflict between him and the guests. But sharing ID information like that is super wrong! As a traveler as well, I find it so ugly. I have reported it to the admin of that group. but I feel that is not enough comparing the impact of posting someone's passport info online to the entire world.

Did it show the guest's actual passport page, without the passport number, date of birth etc blocked out? Or just his name and pic?

And was this on the Airbnb Guests Blacklist FB group?

Hi Susan,

No, all the information are there. It's on Airbnb Hosts in Vietnam - quite a big group with about 23,000 members.

I hope that host does not see my post here, cauz maybe he will trouble me, considering how ugly he could get with the guests...

And yes, it's the actual passport page 😞
