How to receive payment for damages after the 48 hours window

I have a guest who caused damage but I didn't have an amount/any details about the damage until after 48 hours (and to be honest didn't realise the window for claiming was so short). The guest said that they were happy to cover the costs so I didn't worry about it too much at the time. How can I claim the cost back now that the 48 hour window has passed?

You won't be able to claim through the AirBnB policy as you did not notify them - however, not sure what you are concerned about. You say your guest is willing to pay.
