I can't find my listing through searches, I constrict to a map and nothing

I am a super host with over 70 guests stayed, I called technical support and they told me to lower the price or delete the app and try again.

I don't see why I would lower the price since we've been full all of summer. Furthermore, starting September 2nd we have zero bookings, normally we have bookings a few weeks in advance.

Not sure what's going on

Here is a link to the listing

Hello @Kate603 ,

Your listing is in the search system:

https://www.airbnb.com/s?host_id=26284912

(If map not shown turn it on in upper right corner)

There is a lot of competition, zoom in more on the map when searching.

Emiel,

I understand how zooming works, thank you.

What i am saying is i dont show up AT ALL in search results, even when i zoom to a 1-block radius around my house. There are only 3 other listings in that same radius, so the issue is not with competition that i am off the screen because of other nearby listings.

I am very frustrated that i called customer service yeterday and did not get any help. There appears to be a glitch in the system where my listing does not show up in results.

I request some actual help with this topic, because i have been bounced around from representative-to-representative with no help. I have been booked solidly for over a year and a half, and yet i have no bookings for September because nobody can find my listing in searches.

What am i supposed to do here? I am missing out on thousands of dollars in revenue while this is not fixed.

- Kate

For reference, here is what i see when i search for a home in san diego, with NO filters (date, home type, price, etc). My listing should be showing up, as i am on the end of Quince St (sort of to the top right of the $80/night place).

And yet, i do not show up at all.

Sorry emiel! I wrote my response after getting off the phone with customer service again and confused myself like YOU were customer service! The whole thing is so weird and I am wondering how to fix it. Frustrating!

I will keep checking the forums and calling Airbnb to see what is happening. Interesting that you all can see the listing once you have the link but nothing shows up in searches.

Oh well..!

@Kate603,

i am really sorry, but if the link i provided above shows a result, then it is in the search system.

So... i extra did a search as a guest for San Diego and YES: your listing is in the search results !

The printscreen you show above is NOT the part of the map where you listing is located.

To prove it i add a printscreen too:sandiego.jpg

Emiel,

Thank you! I had actually looked at all levels of zoom before and there was nothing. i deactivated the listing and then reactivated and that SEEMS to have made it work.

Thanks for double checking the zooming!

Such a weird day!

@Kate603 this is a forum of fellow hosts, not Airbnb employees. @Emiel1 was only trying to give you a hand. I can't find your listing either, and I can't see anything about it that should prevent it from appearing. There seems to be a disturbing pattern of listings disappearing from search results then being deleted outright for no apparent reason.

yah it's just all so weird! I was considering deactivating the listing and then reactivating.... scared that might make it worse.

i probably overly vented frustration that i get nowhere with customer service! i wish they had an "extra hard" problem area of customer service. Hearing them tell me "oh uninstall the app and reinstall" was the equivalent of asking me to reboot windows 😞

i am worried this won't get fixed and i bet i am missing out on revenue daily. drats.

Maybe try deactivating then reactivating the listing?

good idea... i will try that and keep fingers crossed! couldnt make it worse i guess?

@Kate603

Out of curiosity, try and play around with your booking settings. Turn instant book on, delete your guest requirements, etc. Save the changes, refresh the screen and see if your listing is easier to find.

@Emilia42 she has instant-booking on, and with the direct link I was able to get to BOOK NOW for dates next week... and it's not *hard* to find; it is *impossible.* I tried all kinds of ways to find it, with and without dates, with and without various filters, with and without the map-- and it is just not there.

@Lisa723 Hmmm - I can find it no problem but I do not have the option to instant book her listing.

P.S. I just searched “San Diago” for September 13-17 without any filters and yours was the first listing to pop up out of 300+ homes. You must be doing something right.
