Inaccuracy of AIRBNB searches

Hi,

Has anyone else noticed there has been a change in how the system works?  I have been a Superhost for several years, and my listing always showed up on the first page of a search for listings in my town.   Now, if you do a search for places to stay in my town, the first listing is in a neighboring town!   One has to wade through pages of listings in other towns to get to mine.   This is new.   Anyone else have this issue?   A guest complained to me as well about this.

Thanks!

I agree the search engine is nuts.  I have hosted for several years now, and used to come up on the first page of searches for my town.   Last year I was on page 8! with listings for neighboring towns coming up before mine.   I think this is a problem for guests as well.   Frankly, when I do a search as a guest, I know where I want to be and it is annoying to have to go through irrelevant listings to find the location I want.   I have discussed this with AIRBNB without great results.   The current situation makes no sense to me.

On AirBnb site, there is a place where you can provide feedback. I sent a feedback with my suggestion to include a distance and city name for the search results of listings. Hope all hosts/guests running into the same issue can provide feedback there. Then AirBnb may take the suggestion. Here is their feedback link
