Hi all. We are new to hosting on Airbnb. I could use some insight into insurance coverage on our home. Do you add to your current homeowners insurance to protect yourself? If so, how much is suggested. We are located in Ohio. Could really use some direction. Thank you.
Hi @Gary389, you need to contact your insurance provider with these questions. Be aware that many insurance providers will not cover you at all for short-term rentals. One that will, if your renters do not have access to your own living space, is Proper.
Hi @Gary389
As Lisa suggested, most domestic insurance policies are void when you become an STR, so check with your provider and shop around- the premiums can vary hugely. For me, public liability is the most critical part of insurance and I dont think that the one million that Airbnb says it covers you for is anwhere near sufficient if something catastrophic happens to a guest while staying in your home (our cover is 20 million).
Hi @ Gary. Gary please contact me if you are still in need of help with your insurance. I am able to broker this coverage with carriers and have helped many hosts. Please google me as Air BNB will not allow me to post my contact info. Sean ****

So do you have home insurance or just public liability
We have an Airbnb property in Lower Hutt, New Zealand and pay $458 per month and now they want to double this. How much do others pay?
