Limiting acceptable guest types

I have a room in my home and am considering listing it on Airbnb. I already have a listing, though it is separate and completely self-contained. I am a single mother with a child and ask such in considering listing my second room (in my home) in my immediate families space, my SOLE CONSIDERATION is my families safety. So in saying this, I WILL NOT have instant book activated on this listing and intend accepting guests once I've assessed their suitability and most likely females only. My question is, does Airbnb allow for this, or would they wrongly consider this discrimination? If I could find Airbnb's contact details, I'd not be waisting time writing here, but directing this question to them, as they are obligated to me as a host to clarify this policy! Thanks in advance. Kelly

Kelly this link will give you just about all you need to know about the running of Airbnb, the responsibilities of hosts and of guests.

I am somewhat surprised being a superhost that you not already fully aquainted yourself with it...

Just type into the searchbar any topic you may be unsure of and official Airbnb policy will be displayed in alternative answers.

For contacting Airbnb try this link Kelly! It has been compiled by another very valued member of the forum community.....

This link is a very comprehensive link giving easy to follow instructions on all aspects of getting in touch with Airbnb.

I see Kelly that you are trying to get up a Facebook page that will essentially duplicate what the Community Centre is doing here. It may be preferable for you to get yourself a solid grounding by watching posts on this forum and contributing your knowledge to that of others before you start to branch off in another direction.

This forum and the wonderful regulars who give their time here have made me a confident host Kelly, and have made my experience with Airbnb one of the best things I have done.

Try not be too aggresive with your comments, we all experience frustration with certain aspects of the ABB platform from time to time but, you will notice that the cool calm and appreciative posts receive far greater response than the aggresive browbeating ones.

And as far as contact is concerned I would rate Airbnb one of the best. Being a superhost Kelly if you have an issue call the regular Australian number in Sydney on 02 8520 3333 from your Airbnb registered phone (that is the one you receive notifications on) and as soon as you ring the system will compare and recognise your number and an electronic voice will say .."Welcome Superhost, someone will be with you shortly"! And (at most times during the day) within 30 seconds  of calling, a help consultant in San Francisco or somewhere else will answer the phone with, "Hello Kelly how can I help you today?" Your profile has already been flashed up on their screen and before you have said a word they know who you are. I have struck this on virtually every occasion I have called so, to be honest, I am not mad on people telling me how uncontactable ABB are, I think they are spectacular.

Take a deep breath, learn thye rules, keep contact details handy and I am sure Kelly you will find ABB just as good as I and over half a million other users do!

Cheers.....Rob
