Never got paid and you can't contact airbnb any more

I started hosting about 3 weeks ago and never got any payout from airbnb. They always made it very hard to contact customer service, but in the beginning I was able to write to them somehow. Today I noticed that the "resolve issue" link (the only tortuous path that allowed you to get in touch with them) was removed. Everything suggests that I fell for a scam, and from what I read I am not the only one. Did they just "take the money and ran"?

Just give them a call or contact them via social media (use search function here on this forum if you don't have details)

I am looking for a phone number to contact airbnb and cannot locate one

So far I'm not getting paid is it all a scam.

@Daniele95 and @Nola4  Are you concerned that Air BNB is taking your money in a scam?  That is how your postings read to me.  Perhaps you are concerned about the guest scamming you.  Either way, being able to contact Air BNB should help.  It can be frustrating and is one of the biggest complaints posted on this forum.  I have been successful using the Air BNB Twitter account for rapid response.  Try that to resolve the payment issue.  Good luck!!

@Daniele95 @Brenda58 @Nola4. If you are new to hosting, at the time you posted your listing Airbnb would have requested details for payments to be made, either through a money exchange company (Paypal, Western Union or similar) or directly to a nominated bank account. At that point the payment arm of Airbnb would have deposited a small amount of money into your nominated account to verify that the account details were correct.....Did this happen?? If not then you possibly have been scammed and your payment information has been re-directed! If that is the case go into your account settings and verify that a/c information given is correct, delete it and re-install it. That will re-set Airbnb's automated payment information for you. At that point change your password and access details to limit the possibility of it happening again.

If you did receive a test payment, and you have not received payments then you will need to contact Airbnb in your country and quote the booking reference that would have been issued to you when the guests booking was confirmed. That reference number will be on your confirmation email. For you Daniele the phone number in Italy to contact is +39-06-99366533..... You can also contact Airbnb via their Facebook page or, if you have a 'Twitter' a/c via that avenue.

You will find the Airbnb help desk to be very helpfull and accommodating and I am sure they will be able to resolve your issue.

You will also find that Airbnb payments are extremely reliable and occurences like this do not happen often. In most instances they happen because a host has not familiarised themselves with the rules of hosting and payment and have given Airbnb incorrect payment information.

Good luck Daniele, Brenda and Nola.....I hope you can get these problems sorted out...cheers.....Rob

Hi Robin,

The fact itself that I am having to resort to a community forum to find out how to get paid from airbnb speaks volumes about why one should stay away from it. As far how often things like this happen, I obviously have no way to find out, but judging from the replies to my post it doesn't seem to be too rare. And yes, airbnb has my bank account right because they did deposit one cent (yay!). Whether I'm willing to to spend six hours calling an Italian number and waiting for someone to pick up, I doubt it, also because this is not a full-time job for me. Besides, after a brief Google search, I found a number of better and more reliable alternatives to airbnb which I'm going to use from now on. Best, Daniele

But thanks for your help anyway 😉
