Over Occupancy?

Over Occupancy?

Is over occupancy an issue from a Airbnb liability point of view?

We have a set maximum occupancy as part of the listing. However if a guest books and then we as hosts find out that the guests intend to fill it with greater than the maximum occupancy, what should we do?

In my particular instance, we actually have 10 guests (6 adults and 4 children) which is maximum quoted in listing and now have 2 infants as well (both under 2 years) that can quite easily sleep in with their parents or one could sleep in the "pack n play" that we provide anyway.

So its not an issue that our home can not accomodate it, its more of if something should happen are we as hosts still covered by Airbnb insurances?

It is an issue because a host may refuse to accommodate more guests than the reservation quotes.

As for any coverage by insurance, read in this forum how many hosts have been turned down by Airbnb. I don't want to disappoint you, but it's kinda illusion.

What a host can do in the case of overoccupancy, though, is to request extra money they deserve.
