Payments 1 year in advance

Hello Airbnb community. I am a host. I've just had a guest stay with me. They really enjoyed their stay and want to stay again next year. However they don't want to tie a lot of money up for a year. Is there anyway they can pay a holding deposit now and pay the balance later. I'm comfortable with them doing that. Gav.

@Gavin4, I believe this is not possible. Unless a guest is staying over a long term (in which case payments are monthly), the full payment of a booking is always made at once.

Does the guest already know the dates he plans to visit again? If so, you could block those dates for a specified period. Perhaps ask if they'd confirm with you (or book) at least 3 months ahead of their planned arrival time, so that the dates won't be blocked in case they change their mind.

Hi,

Hi....I'm new to the AirBnB family and appreciate your help.

So basically, when a guest pays, AirBnB holds their funds until they arrive? Then upon arrival, they release the funds to the host.

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Lynda

That's correct - roughly 24 hours after arrival (for short stays). Long stays have different payment arrangements.

Yes @Lynda21  that is correct
