Pet Policy

I am a host who does allow Pets to stay.  A guest has booked stating she was bringing "a pet".  Now she has messaged saying she is bring 3 large sized dogs with her.  I cannot see anything about how you limit the number of pets allowed nor what to do if a guest announces they are bringing more than 1 pet with them.  I am quite concerned about my 1 bed flat and what condition it will be in after 3 large dogs have stayed 2 nights.  Any thoughts on what to do??  Thanks.

Was it "insta-booked"  or did they make a request and then you approved it?

If the former, I'm not sure what you can do at this stage......and if the latter I suppose the only way to avoid it is to clarify the pet count before approving but I get that this takes time.

Totally agree that they should have an option to mark how many pets you permit (or perhaps even what types / sizes...)

Is it still a while before she arrives?  If so, and she's a reasonable person, it might be best to cancel it if you're not comfortable with 3 large dogs coming........

Yes, she instant booked a few days ago and it's for 2 nights this coming week. If the guest had messaged me first to ask if it was OK that would've been different. She waited until today to say "I hope it's Ok that I'm bringing 3 large dogs with me...." 

Not sure what to do and don't want to affect my listing and this is definitely a loop hole that Airbnb need to address.

Your suggestion to state maximum/pet type in my house rules is a good one!  Thanks.

That's instant booking for you...unfortunately. If you say pets allowed and have no rules about how many, what types (ie no elephants - or dogs/cats only and how many) then you are a bit stuck with this one I think.

I have a question - Can I require proof of vaccination of pets that guests may be bringing? Protecting my own pets is a priority. Thanks!
