So I just took some time to look over my reviews because although my guests have all had nice thingsd to say I recently lost my superhost status.  So perusing the reviews I find on the first two pages two different guests who left me five star ratings in all the categories yet gave me a 4 star rating as a final score.  I spoke with a service rep who told me they are two separate ratings (no kidding) blah blah blah.  So I pointed out that the private rating for me are totally useless...how am I supposed to improve anything and get my superhost status back if they rated me 5 stars in all of the categories??  THis means the stupid superhost staus thing is bogus also.  Huge waste of my time and now I've just aggravated myself.  So I signed off by saying "this means I can get 5 stars all through the private ratings and they can give me 1 star for the public rating. "  The representative agreed.  Isnt that nice?

@Cynthia183 yes this has always been a problem and hasn't been resolved yet. There are many many threads discussing this matter but unfortunately there is nothing you can do about it. The only thing we can try to do is educate the guests on the rating system and even that isn't a guarantee that they will understand it or even care.
